States driven through: 2 (Idaho and Montana)
I am going to try and give a brief run down each day of our trip. If I don't, the days are going to run together in my mind! We had a long first day. It was so hot and slow going through the mountains in Montana. The moving truck can only go so fast up the hills so that really adds to our driving time. We stopped at a Silver Dollar store (can't remember the name of the town) and Caden got his first pocket knife and Jordyn picked out a cowboy hat. We never stopped for lunch but ate snacks along the way. Finally got into Billings in the evening and that was a nightmare. The hotel was right downtown and there was no where to park the truck. We had to park it next door at an auto repair shop, our only concern was all the bums wandering around. It was strange to see so many. We ate dinner at Chili's and came back for a swim in the pool. We were exhausted and literally fell into bed. The most interesting part of the day had to be our roadkill count! We hadn't realized how much we would come across but it makes sense considering the areas we were driving through. I saw 4 deer but Tracy said there was quite a few more than that. Lots of foxes, skunks, squirrels and plenty of unidentifiable animals!!
